WPL 2025: Pravin Tambe joins Gujarat Giants as bowling coach as coaching staff gets revamped | CricTracker

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) Auction for the upcoming third edition of the tournament is just around the corner. Ahead of the important juncture, Gujarat Giants Women (GG) have onboarded Pravin Tambe as their bowling coach for the 2025 season.

Additionally, Gujarat have also got the services of Daniel Marsh, who will serve as their batting coach for the season. Meanwhile, Michael Klinger has been retained as the head coach. The franchise made the announcement in a release on Thursday, December 12.

“We laid solid groundwork last season, and I’m excited to build on that with the talented players we have retained in the squad. Our focus remains on fostering a winning mindset, and pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve as a team. “It is incredibly rewarding to see so many of our Gujarat Giants players representing India since last WPL season. This invaluable high-level experience will undoubtedly strengthen our squad for the upcoming season,” Klinger said in a statement as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

Mithali Raj, Nooshin Al Khadeer part ways

The incoming of Tambe and Marsh means that Mithali Raj, who helmed as the mentor for the franchise since the inception of the league, has been replaced. Mithali has recently taken up mentorship responsibilities with Andhra Cricket Association (ACA). Nooshin Al Khadeer, the assistant coach for the previous two editions, has also parted ways with the franchise.

Speaking of the Giants, the side has had a wooden-spoon finish in both the editions of WPL so far. Their disappointing campaigns have forced them to rebuild a stronger squad ahead of the 2025 season of the cash-rich league.
