Nicolas Jackson stunned fans with a shocking miss during Chelsea’s win over Brentford.
The Blues secured a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge, with Jackson ending up getting the decisive goal, to move two points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.
However, Enzo Maresca’s side could have had a more comfortable evening had Jackson not spurned a golden chance in the second half.
The forward had been picked out in the middle by Jadon Sancho, who cut the ball back after driving to the byline.
With the goal gaping, Jackson’s wayward effort soared over the crossbar to the dismay of Chelsea supporters on social media.
Reacting to the miss, one fan wrote: “Nicolas Jackson with the miss of the season.”
Another added: “Jackson, how did you miss that?”
A third supporter also commented: “Jackson you simply cannot be missing that.”
Meanwhile, one more said: “Bad miss by Jackson. Crazy!”
Fortunately for Jackson, he made up for his miss later in the half by doubling the home side’s lead.
The Senegalese international rounded off a flowing Chelsea break after being set up by Enzo Fernandez.
Jackson now has nine goals in 15 Premier League appearances for the Blues this season.
Despite a late Bryan Mbuemo strike, the home side held on to claim all three points.
The win also sees his side close the gap to Liverpool following their draw on Saturday.
Chelsea now sit just two points behind the Reds but have played a match more than their title rivals.
As a result, the Blues could find themselves top of the table with a win at Everton next Sunday.
