It took until February but the San Diego Padres have finally made a significant offseason addition , signing starting pitcher Nick Pivetta to a four-year, $55-million contract. Pivetta will be 32 when the season begins and spent the last five seasons with the Boston Red Sox, posting a 4.14 ERA with 172 strikeouts and just 36 walks in 145 2/3 innings.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Pivetta has racked up 1,139 K’s in his eight big league seasons, the 18th-most in MLB since his first start. With that being said, can you name the pitchers with at least 170 strikeouts in the 2024 MLB season?
