First look at a new racing shoe which is both fast and stylish
While not screaming over-the-top supershoe looks, the Eliot Racer retains Tracksmith’s classic, minimalist styling and clean-cut appearance with an underlying level of high-tech energy return for race day.
The secret here lies in the novel construction of an ATPU drop-in midsole unit, which places the performance directly under the foot. Within the midsole chassis sits a moulded carbon fibre plate and when the two come together we get a shoe that feels both soft and welcoming as well as fast and responsive.
The free-floating drop-in midsole eliminates excess glue and layers, ensuring direct foot-to-foam contact, enhancing energy return and maximising comfort. The design works beautifully, and with the high-quality construction we have come to expect from Tracksmith products the Eliot looks and feels ready to race.

The combination of the ATPU drop-in midsole and the Pebax midsole chassis provides maximum propulsion and efficiency for faster running.
Independently tested by Heeluxe, the Racer had one of the highest energy return levels ever recorded. A full-length carbon plate with cross-rocker geometry minimizes energy loss and optimizes toe-off efficiency.
The streamlined silhouette contrasts with the high-stack supershoes that have become commonplace in the industry. The no-nonsense design packages the performance elements of the Racer, the gold styling serving as just a hint of the work that’s put in by the wearer.
The Racer features a new last with an increased toe spring, a roomier forefoot and a snugger heel for a locked-in fit. A crafted micro suede collar and tongue strike the perfect balance between comfort and performance. With most of the foam housed within the upper, the construction delivers a sleek, low-profile silhouette with less bulk.
The fit is neat and precise and the clean-cut design lends itself perfectly to race day. The drop in cushioning design could lead to opportunities for future development with the package, but for now, it’s a race day model perfectly tuned for longer distances on the road.
The tech behind the Eliot Racer:
Stack height: 38mm at the heel and 30.5 mm at the forefoot for a heel-to-toe drop of 7.5 mm
Weight: US Men’s 9 weighing 7.7 oz (218g)
Performance: The Pebax midsole has >70% Resiliency and the ATPU sockliner even better with >80% Resiliency.
