Brandon Ingram's fury leads to him smashing a water bottle in the face of a 76ers staff member

Brandon Ingram’s debut season with the Toronto Raptors has taken a dramatic turn. The positive impression he had made on Canadian fans and media vanished in an instant following his emotional outburst during Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Now in his ninth year as a professional, Ingram joined the Raptors in a trade that sent guard Bruce Brown, center Kelly Olynyk, and two draft picks (2026 and 2031) to the New Orleans Pelicans.

After the February trade, Ingram signed a three-year, $120 million contract extension. However, an ankle injury in April sidelined him for the remainder of that season.

The Raptors began the 2025-2026 campaign strong, defeating the Atlanta Hawks 138-118, but have since slipped to a 5-5 record. Moreover, a fresh injury has now triggered a wave of frustration and anger from the star forward.

    Ingram’s outburst

On Saturday night, Toronto visited the Wells Fargo Center to take on Philadelphia. After dominating the first quarter, the Raptors faltered and ultimately lost 130-120.

Early in the second quarter, while the team was still in control, Ingram was sidelined with an apparent injury. Visibly upset, he slammed a water bottle onto the court.

The bottle bursted, spraying water across the floor and ricocheting into a member of the Sixers’ staff. Raptors forward Scottie Barnes was also splashed in the incident.

Rather than apologizing, Ingram stood by indifferently as Philadelphia staffers and arena personnel cleaned up the mess. His lack of remorse sparked immediate backlash from fans.

    Fans blast Ingram

The incident quickly went viral, igniting outrage online.

“Throws a fit and just stands there while everyone else cleans up the mess. What a culture,” one fan wrote.

Another commented, “I get it-someone might do something like that out of frustration. But once you realize you hit someone and made a mess, HOW do you not feel embarrassed and immediately apologize or help clean it up?”

A third was even harsher: “Imagine just sitting there, paid millions, and acting like he did nothing.”

As of now, Ingram has not issued an apology-and it doesn’t appear one is coming anytime soon.
