Ryan Day finally ended his four-game losing streak against his rivals, the Michigan Wolverines. On Saturday, the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes secured a 27-9 victory over Sherrone Moore’s team on the road.
Despite this being his first victory over the Wolverines in six years, Day decided not to plant the Ohio State flag in the middle of the field at Michigan Stadium. This was something that Sherrone Moore’s team attempted at Ohio Stadium last season during their 13-10 victory, which led to an on-field altercation.
Thanks for the submission!
During a sideline interview with Fox Sports’ Jenny Taft, Ryan Day opened up about how he wanted to handle the victory with grace.

“We’re just happy for our players,” Day said. “They worked really hard. And happy for our coaches. You know, they worked really, really hard. We had good energy this week. We had confidence coming in. And the guys played tough. They played physical. We won the line of scrimmage and we’re just happy for our guys.
“We’re gonna win with humility. Just happy for a lot of people right now. Can’t name all but means a lot.”
Following this victory, the Buckeyes ended the season with an undefeated 10-0 (9-0 Big Ten) record.
Against the Wolverines, quarterback Julian Sayin completed 19 of 26 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns. On the other hand, Bryce Underwood put up an underwhelming performance, completing 8 of 18 passes for 63 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.
Sherrone Moore’s team found the scoreboard thanks to three field goals by Dominic Zavada.
Albert Breer heaps praise on Ryan Day for ending his four-game losing streak against Michigan
Despite winning the national championship last season, Day was criticized for losing to the Wolverines at home. Now, almost a year later, he finally got his revenge on the road against his biggest rivals.
After Saturday’s Ohio State vs. Michigan game, analyst Albert Breer shared a tweet congratulating Day on securing his first win over the Wolverines in six years.
“Mostly, I’m happy for Ryan Day, who dealt with a lot of crap from a lot of people, even after winning the title. His players won with class today. Proud to be a Buckeye and to have him as my coach.
“Looks like a certain postgame show is gonna be down in a couple guys. Go Bucks.” Breer tweeted.
The Ohio State Buckeyes will take on the No.2 Indiana Hoosiers (12-0, 9-0 Big Ten) in this year’s Big Ten Championship game. Can Ryan Day lead his team to back-to-back national championships?
