Luka Doncic was one-half of history on Sunday night as the Lakers beat the Pelicans, 133-121. With LeBron James out of the lineup, Austin Reaves stepped up and became Doncic’s co-star.
The dynamic duo of Doncic and Reaves combined to score 67 points on the night, making their recent hot streak together special and a rarity throughout NBA history.
Doncic, who had 34 points, and Reaves, who posted 33 of his own, became just the fourth duo to each score 30 points in three straight games in the last 50 years. Doncic also added 12 rebounds for the double-double and seven assists as well. Reaves had five boards and eight assists.
