    Local Media Provides More Details

The victims reportedly include the merchant, his 16-year-old daughter – who died in hospital – and one bodyguard. The injured are said to be four bodyguards. Authorities have not officially confirmed all details.

The Shootout Occurred Just Kilometers from the World Cup Venue

The incident occurred just a few kilometers from Estadio Akron, in Guadalajara/Zapopan, a stadium scheduled to host four matches during the FIFA World Cup 2026. The proximity to a World Cup venue could prompt heightened security measures to ensure fan safety ahead of the tournament.

Authorities deployed a major security operation involving state police, the National Guard, and the military. As of now, no arrests have been reported. Officials believe the attack was targeted and may be linked to organized crime activity in the region.
