Ellyse Perry Set to Play The Hundred 2026 After Skipping WPL 2026

The franchise Birmingham Phoenix has kept Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry for the forthcoming Women’s The Hundred 2026 season in England. It should be highlighted that the champion cricketer from Australia chose to withdraw herself from the WPL 2026 season in India for the RCB Women’s franchise due to ‘personal reason’.

Since withdrawing from WPL 2026, Ellyse Perry has also been to New Zealand to participate in the Women’s Super Smash 2025-26 competition with Wellington Women.

Ellyse Perry to make Hundred return after skipping WPL

A couple of weeks ago in December, Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry had her name withdrawn from the RCB Women’s franchise for the upcoming WPL 2026 season. Perry, along with fellow Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland both cited “personal reasons” behind their late pull out.

In the end, Ellyse Perry has confirmed her participation in the Birmingham Phoenix franchise in England for the Women’s The Hundred 2026 season. On January 7, a few days before the start of the WPL 2026 in India, the 35-year-old was retained by the Phoenix franchise for the 5th edition of The Hundred.

Ellyse Perry herself announced her return to The Hundred by stating, “I am very happy to be back with Birmingham Phoenix.”

Perry, who has been part of Birmingham Phoenix since 2022, has played a total of 22 matches for the franchise till the 2025 edition last year. The middle-order batter, in 22 innings, scored 545 runs with an average of 30.27 and a strike rate of 127.03, along with taking 10 wickets with the ball.

The iconic Australian cricketer is also a major attraction for the RCB side in the WPL, having scored 972 runs in three seasons with an incredible average of 64.80. Ellyse Perry was instrumental in RCB’s championship win in 2024, where she scored 347 runs in just nine innings and took eight wickets with the ball.
