Denver Summit FC has released some exciting announcements this week involving its roster for the upcoming NWSL season. As this will be the club’s first official season, the roster is even more exciting. These new signees range from USWNT members to players fresh out of the NCAA. Here are five signing announcements Denver Summit released this past week.
Lindsey Heaps
Two days ago, Denver Summit announced that Lindsey Heaps will be returning home to Colorado to join the club as a midfielder. Heaps expressed sadness about leaving Lyon, her former club in France, but excitement about being part of this new NWSL team and being closer to her family. Along with the announcement, Denver Summit released new merchandise featuring Heaps front and center, along with her signature number, 10.
Yuna McCormack
McCormack was announced five days ago and is coming off an NCAA Championship win with Florida State University in December. The FSU midfielder has also been a consistent member of the U.S. Youth National Team and is now taking the next step into the NWSL and her professional soccer career.
Jasmine Aikey
Aikey announced her signing with Denver Summit a week ago. She is coming from Stanford after recently winning the MAC Hermann Trophy for her phenomenal performance this season, scoring several of the team’s most crucial goals. After spending her college years in Northern California and growing up nearby in Palo Alto, Denver will be a new and exciting adventure as she takes her next steps in her soccer career.
Emma Regan
Regan was the most recent announcement from Denver Summit, revealed just yesterday. She is joining the club from AFC Toronto, where she played as a midfielder. Originally from British Columbia, Regan is also a member of the Canadian National Team. She was a key player at the University of Texas, finishing her collegiate career in 2022 before taking her soccer career abroad.
Janine Sonis
Defender Janine Sonis announced her signing six days ago. She joins Denver Summit from Racing Louisville, where she was a standout defender and a dangerous scoring threat. Sonis is also a key player on the Canadian National Team and was originally born in Colorado, making her return to Denver a homecoming similar to Heaps’.
