The final Fast & Furious movie reveals title and release date

On January 30, 2026, Vin Diesel officially announced that the eleventh and final installment of the Fast & Furious saga will be titled Fast Forever. The film is scheduled to hit the theaters on March 17, 2028, marking a five-year gap since the cliffhanger ending of Fast X.

Universal Pictures and Diesel shared the news with an emotional tribute to the late Paul Walker, signaling that the finale will focus heavily on the “legacy” of the family. The plot is expected to return to the franchise’s roots in Los Angeles, bringing the story full circle back to the street racing and car culture where it all began in 2001.

While the full official cast list for the final Fast & Furious film is still pending, several main actors from the franchise are confirmed or widely expected to return. Vin Diesel is returning as Dominic Toretto. As both the lead actor and a primary producer, Diesel remains the driving force behind the series.

He has described this final installment not merely as an action movie, but as a “celebration” of the family legacy that has spanned over two decades. Despite the harrowing cliffhanger at the end of Fast X, veterans Michelle Rodriguez (Letty), Tyrese Gibson (Roman), and Ludacris (Tej) are all confirmed to return.

Diesel has hinted at a full reunion, suggesting that the team will find a way to regroup for their ultimate mission in the final Fast & Furious film. Additionally, Jason Momoa is set to reprise his role as the chaotic and flamboyant villain Dante Reyes, which he played in the previous film of the Fast franchise.

To combat such a formidable threat, the franchise is bringing back its major cast. The mid-credits scene of Fast X shocked audiences by confirming the return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the formidable Luke Hobbs. Additionally, Gal Gadot’s character, Gisele Yashar, made a surprising reappearance, hinting at her return from the presumed dead.

Fast Forever is also confirmed to feature the return of Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner. Vin Diesel has ensured that the series finale features a meaningful reunion between Dom and Brian, giving a proper presence for the character rather than a mere off-screen mention.

Director Louis Leterrier, who is returning to helm the finale, has expressed a clear goal to “land the franchise back on Earth.” Following the series’ increasingly outlandish stunts, including the space-bound mission in F9, the final Fast & Furious film will prioritize grounded action, practical stunts, and the intense street racing that defined the saga’s early years.

While the Fast universe may continue through various spin-offs, such as the Hobbs & Reyes project, both Diesel and Universal Pictures have reaffirmed that Fast Forever is the definitive end of the main eleven-film saga.

Fast Forever is currently scheduled to hit the theaters on March 17, 2028.
