West Bromwich Albion are now reportedly “in talks” to sign another talented young player before the end of the transfer window, having already welcomed Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba.
Jimoh-Aloba “determined to lift” West Brom
It’s been a nightmare season for West Brom. The Baggies find themselves in a shock relegation battle in the Championship following the failed stint of Ryan Mason and the disaster that has been Eric Ramsay’s tenure so far.
The 33-year-old has been eaten alive by the ruthlessness of England’s second tier and is yet to win a game in four attempts – conceding 12 goals in the process.
Whilst some may feel like the writing is already on the wall for another young manager, West Brom will be hoping that their late additions help turn things around, especially Jimoh-Aloba.
The Aston Villa man has arrived on loan and has returned to the Hawthorns for the first time since leaving as an academy graduate in 2023.
Speaking to the club website after putting pen to paper, the 19-year-old attacker said: “This was the number one place I wanted to come because of the emotions and feelings I have towards the club. Those emotions are still in me deeply.
“This is a massive club that should be in a much better place and I want to come here and help and do the best I can. I’m determined to help lift the team.
“I was here as a kid from the age of six, so it’s a place I’m comfortable at. It’s a positive for me to come back and I can’t wait to get going.”
It looks as though the Baggies are turning towards more young players to save their season too. Alongside Jimoh-Aloba, they’ve reportedly set their sights on a Crystal Palace gem.
West Brom “in talks” to sign Mustapha
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, West Brom are now “in talks” to sign Hindolo Mustapha from Crystal Palace ahead of the deadline. The attacking midfielder just returned from a loan spell in Germany at Nuremberg and could now be about to get his first taste of Championship football.
Mustapha has struggled for first-team opportunities in both Germany and at Crystal Palace. A move down to the Championship may put an end to that as he’s thrown in the deep end of a relegation battle.
It’s a bold strategy from West Brom, who have relied on youth in the dugout throughout the entirety of the current campaign.
Price replacement: West Brom enter race to sign Premier League midfielder
West Bromwich Albion could land a last-gasp deal for this exciting star just before the transfer window shuts.
It would take some effort form Ramsay to prove doubters wrong at this stage, especially after shipping a combined eight goals against Norwich City and Portsmouth, but reinforcements should at least hand his squad a timely boost.
Up next, the Baggies play host to Stoke City in a game which could feature some young debutants.
