“THIS HAS TO BE INTENTIONAL”- Internet reacts as BTS’ RM’s ‘We Rose Everywhere’ hat sparks shade allegations amid Rosé’s Grammy loss

On Saturday, BTS’s RM posted a story through his personal Instagram account, @rkive, which showcased the idol at the gym, while adorning a black tank top and a black hat that read “WE ROSE EVERYWHERE”. While the caption “Start” referred to the idol’s workout session, many fans and netizens focused on the cap’s message, naturally resulting in a few speculations.

Since the story was posted right after the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, which were conducted on February 1, people stated that the BTS idol was allegedly trying to shade BLACKPINK’s Rosé for her recent loss at the award show. Given that Rosé’s collaborative song with Bruno Mars, back in 2024, has been one of the most popular releases on the internet, several fans expected a win for the song this year.

Therefore, the lack of her Grammy win has led people to speculate that the BTS idol has used a play of word with the “ROSE” printed on his hat, allegedly communicating that BTS’s success has been consistent and global, contrary to the BLACKPINK member’s results at this year’s Grammys. However, since there has been no confirmation regarding RM’s intentions with his Instagram post, many also expressed that he might not be sharing Rosé, and the story was merely an update on his workout schedules.

Regardless, here are a few fan reactions regarding the recent speculations:

“THIS HAS TO BE INTENTIONAL OMG NAMJOON YESS NAMJOON YOU GOOOO” said a fan on X

All you need to know about BTS’s RM and BLACKPINK’s Rosé’s recent solo activities

Following the release of her solo studio album, Rosie, in December 2024, with its title track, Toxic Till the End, Rosé rolled out several other activities in the past year. She withdrew from the KMCA, or Korea Music Copyright Association, making her the first major artist to depart the association in 22 years. Around May, she was featured among the lineup of artists for the F1 the Album.

The album stood as a soundtrack for the 2025 sports action film, F1, and she contributed the song, Messy, for the same. In June, she rolled out a collaborative track with Alex Warren called On My Mind, as part of the You’ll Be Alright, Kid album. In September, she made history as the first K-pop act to win the VMA’s Song of the Year at the 2025 MTV Music Awards for her track, APT.

The same track asso bagged three nominations under this year’s Grammy Awards, which also makes the song the most-nominated track by any Korean artist in Grammy’s history. She also received two Guinness World Records for the same. Currently, she’s signed with WME for international representation in her solo career. RM, on the other hand, was discharged from his mandatory military service in June 2025.

He resumed his duties as the global ambassador for Samsung Art TC, where he rolled out a special talk at Art Basel, alongside the Director of Art Basel Paris, Clément Delépine, and Basim Magdy. He also revealed that he will be unveiling his solo art exhibition RM x SFMOMA in October 2026, in collaboration with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Most recently, he was also named the angel investor of the AI art platform, Artue.

Both K-pop idol groups are also releasing comebacks this year. While BTS is expected to release their full-length album, ARIRANG, on March 20, BLACKPINK will roll out their mini-album, DEADLINE, on February 27.
