Manchester United to face competition from Liverpool for €100m-rated winger in the summer transfer window: Reports

Manchester United are set to face competition from Liverpool in their pursuit of RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande.

Diomande has enjoyed a debut campaign so far with the Bundesliga giants, registering 14 goal contributions in 21 appearances across all competitions. The 19-year-old joined Leipzig from CD Leganes in July 2025 and has cemented his position as a first-team regular at his current club.

With the January transfer window closed, Manchester United are looking to reinforce their attacking department this summer and have identified the winger as a potential target.

According to Manchester Evening News, United are interested in Diomande but will face serious competition for the youngster. Liverpool have reportedly been linked with a move for the Ivory Coast international and are expected to challenge for his signature in the summer.

While his current market value stands at €45 million as per Transfermarkt, the report added that Leipzig have slapped a €100 million price tag on the player, but he is likely to leave the club for a fee lower than that.

It is believed that the Red Devils will see two wingers, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, permanently leave the club at the end of the season. Sancho’s contract will run out in June 2026, while Rashford is expected to complete a permanent transfer to Barcelona.

Manchester United have reportedly been keeping tabs on Diomande’s progress this season, and there is an expectation that he will leave Leipzig in the summer. While Diomande primarily plays as a left winger, he can also play as a right winger, as he has been deployed multiple times in the position in the ongoing season.

Manchester United planning to sign Casemiro replacement in the summer – Reports

Manchester United are reportedly planning to sign a replacement for Casemiro ahead of his departure at the end of the season. Casemiro, on January 22, announced he will leave United at the end of the season upon the expiry of his contract.

The midfielder moved to Old Trafford in 2022 and has continued to strut his stuff at the club despite being 33 years old. With his exit on the horizon, United are making preparations to identify the ideal replacement for the Brazil international.

According to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson has emerged as the ‘perfect replacement’ for Casemiro, with the 23-year-old said to possess the tenacity and energetic style of the former Real Madrid man.

Anderson has been a regular for Forest this season, having started all 24 of the club’s league matches.
