India beat Namibia by 93 runs in IND vs NAM clash in T20 World Cup 2026.
India registered their second straight win of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 as they thrashed Namibia by 93 runs. The match took place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, where India were asked to bat first, and piled up 209 for nine. With the ball, they struggled at the start, but bundled out Namibia for 116, winning by a massive margin.
Sanju Samson (22), who was added to the XI, came out with the positive intent and did damage in just eight balls. However, he yet again failed to convert the start he had. On the other end, it was a usual aggressive day for Ishan Kishan (61) as he hammered a brutal half-century.
He was supported well by Tilak Varma (25 as the duo added 79 runs for the second wicket, which saw India posting 86 runs in the powerplay. Namibia made a strong comeback after that and removed quick wickets.
However, it was Hardik Pandya (52), who came to the rescue and hit a solid half-century. Shivam Dube (23) played his part as well, and India posted a big total of 209 for nine.
IND vs NAM: Varun Chakravarthy breaks backbone of Namibia with his heroics
In the chase, Namibia were off to a flying start with Louren Steenkamp (29) and Jan Frylinck (22) taking Indian bowlers to cleaners. But the introduction of spinners tilted the game in favour of India.
Varun Chakravarthy picked three wickets in a flash, while Axar Patel grabbed two as the two broke the backbone of Namibia. Later pacers also chipped in as India ended Namibia’s innings on 116, winning the game by 63 runs.
T20 World Cup 2026 points table after match 18, IND vs NAM
India managed a comfortable win over Namibia in their Group A match of the T20 World Cup 2026 in New Delhi on Thursday to reclaim the top spot.
Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya struck fifties to take India to 209 for nine before the bowlers, led by Varun Chakaravarthy, bundled out Namibia on 116 to secure a 93-run victory.
Pakistan, which has won its games against the Netherlands and USA, is in second place. It has four points too, but an inferior Net Run Rate compared to India.
Sri Lanka, West Indies, and New Zealand are the sides on top of Groups B, C, and D, respectively.
