Sophie Cunningham had a memorable linkup with Sydney Sweeney during the NASCAR Cup Series in November. The Indiana Fever star reflected on that meeting on Monday, while teasing her big courtside dream for next season.
Cunningham revisited the meeting in an interview with GQ Sports, revealing that she didn’t get “starstruck,” she genuinely enjoyed linking up with the actress.
“I don’t get starstruck, just not my personality,” Cunningham said. “When she walked in, I actually had no idea that it was her. And so, it was cool.
Continuing, the Fever guard opened up on her NASCAR experience before sending a shout-out to Sweeney.
“NASCAR was so much fun,” Cunningham expressed. “I feel like that crowd was my type of people, hot dogs and beer say less. But when I met Sydney, she’s super sweet, great movies and so that’s kind of a fun experience.”
After recounting the encounter, Cunningham went on to tease her big courtside dream when asked to name her ideal guest for next season.
“I feel like I need Will Ferrell to show up,” Cunningham said. “I just love him so much. I love his movies, I just think he’s a good human. And so I think I need to somehow make that happen.”
Ferrell, who is a California native, is known to be a hardcore Lakers fan and often appears at the Crypto.com Arena to show his support.
With Cunningham currently a free agent after her stint with the Fever last season, a potential move to Los Angeles would only bring her closer to making that courtside wish a reality.
Sophie Cunningham once claimed her “t*ts” were “better” than Sydne Sweeney after NASCAR linkup
Sophie Cunningham is one of the most outspoken players in the WNBA, with the Fever guard remaining unafraid to speak her mind.
However, after linking up with Sydney Sweeney during a NASCAR race in November, Cunningham drew attention for a remark in which she compared her own physique to the actress.
“So many people thought I was being serious and I was like, “Dude, this is not a competition. My tits are clearly way better than hers,” Cunningham said.
The Fever guard’s remarks came after she shared a picture of Sweeney and her on X (formerly Twitter), before joking that one of them left their “T*ts at home.”
The post drew significant attention, which later led Cunningham to address the comment on her podcast.
