YouTuber-turned-wrestler Logan Paul made the rounds for all the wrong reasons last week.
He implied that he could hold his own against professional football players. Unsurprisingly, NFL legend Tom Brady laughed it off and said that while wrestling was “cute,” there was just no way he’d pull it off.
Those comments didn’t go unnoticed online, and while most people agreed with Brady’s take, Paul refuses to cave. That’s why he doubled down on his comments and took a subtle swipe at the seven-time Super Bowl champion.
Logan Paul insists he’s more athletic than football players
“If you put me and Tom Brady up athletically against one another in a majority of sports, I bet I’d be more ‘athletic,'” Paul explained on his “Impaulsive” podcast. “He used the word ‘cute’ when talking about WWE. I think in many ways, football is also cute. I’m a boxer, and you can probably put most NFL players and basketball players in a ring and they’d probably get their [expletive] kicked by real boxers.”
Of course, Paul has gotten in the ring several times, including an infamous eight-round bout with former champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. Then again, he can’t possibly compare fighting fellow influencers or working out to look pumped while wrestling to playing football.
The Paul brothers have done an amazing job of branding themselves, staying in the conversation regardless of whether people are praising or bashing them. That said, not every publicity is good publicity, and this is a fight he’s just not going to win.
