Wove Saddles Get Metal Rail Option for Lower Price & Increased Durability

Wove Saddles is well known for ultra-light carbon fiber saddles like the Mags (reviewed here). We loved the Mags, the comfort, the easy setup, and the weight. One thing, however, we didn’t like was the cost, a whopping $500. Yes – you get super cutting-edge tech/premium material, and the saddle is top of the line, but $500 is a lot of scratch.

Now, Wove is expanding its line with metal-railed (full steel) versions of its core designs, bringing a new balance of durability, weight, and price.

Enter The Metal Age of Wove

For those looking to experience the Wove ride, but at a more palatable price point, the core offerings (M8, Mags, and V8) will soon be available in metal-railed versions.

How much does the metal rail knock off the price? The saddles aren’t available for purchase yet (you can sign up for a pre-order below), but Wove has hinted at a price point around $310 USD and roughly 210 g for a metal-railed Mags, and about $320 USD and around 265 g for a metal-railed V8 variant. This is well below the flagship carbon-railed models, opening the door for more riders to experience Wove’s, but it is still a proper commitment for a bike saddle.

    Why Metal Rails?

Most high-end performance saddles lean on carbon rails for minimal weight and stiffness. While that makes sense for riders chasing every gram, durability sometimes isn’t there.

By switching to steel or similarly high-strength metal alloys for the rails, the saddle gains meaningful durability without relying on oversized shapes or overly stiff construction. The construction of the Wove saddles is nearly the same, but instead of the molded carbon rails to the shell, solid steel rails will slot in.

While metal rails do carry a slight weight penalty compared to carbon, carefully engineered designs still deliver predictable flex and should hold up to added abuse. Wove maintains the same ample fore-and-aft adjustability with slightly longer-than-standard rails.
