Blake Monroe, a massive name from AEW, signed with WWE last year, making it one of the biggest brand switches of the year. While many expected her to join the main roster, following in the footsteps of Jade Cargill, given that she was a popular star, she debuted on NXT and made her way up to the rankings.
Recently, speaking in an interview on Notsam Wrestling with professional wrestling journalist Sam Roberts, Blake talked about why she didn’t push for a main-roster call-up. Monroe expressed that she is not rushing into anything. She wants to face multiple women, as the roster is amazing; she still has a lot to do; she has only feuded with Jordynne Grace, and Jaida Parker has been chasing her now, and would then chase the main women’s title.
Thanks for the submission!
“I think people can get really fixated on that [being called up] but NXT, it’s strange because it’s attached to the Performance Center. In some sense there is developmental but there are huge stars on it, I don’t know why there’s some kind of ‘I need to be called up.’ I’m not in any rush. As I said, I still have so much to do. I’ve hardly feuded with any of the women. I mean, Jordynne Grace wasted a lot of my time and now Jaida Parker is chasing me around but there’s so many women I want to wrestle and I haven’t even approached the main women’s title,” she said. Blake Monroe is all set for a major WWE match
Last week’s episode of WWE NXT saw the newly crowned Interim General Manager of the developmental brand, Mr. Robert Stone, reveal that Jaida Parker, who has been feuding with the former AEW Women’s World Champion, has been suspended for actions during their brawl, including putting hands on officials, and she has also injured herself.
The GM also made his call and put The Glamour in the Women’s Speed Championship tournament and announced that she will be facing Thea Hail on WWE NXT this week.
It will be interesting to see what plans Triple H and his creative team have in store for Blake in the coming weeks.
