In the middle of the debate of what will Travis Kelce do next in his career, his longtime friend and teammate Patrick Mahomes has had his say on the matter. In an Instagram Story, the main quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs shared a reel of a legendary play done by the #15 and #87.
The footage, captured at AT&T Stadium and firstly shared by @prestonsmithfilms, shows the two superstars bathed in something like a divine light after a touchdown, in a moment of perfection that has Mahomes feeling the weight of nostalgia.

What will Kelce do?
While Mahomes’ future in Kansas City is secured, Travis Kelce’s situation tells a different story. As of the time of this article, Kelce has not officially committed to a 14th NFL season yet. At his36 years old, Kelce is about to make a defining decision for his personal and professional life.
Some people suggest that with the ongoing success of his New Heights podcast and his wedding with Taylor Swift around the corner, Travis could move into the entertainment landscape, leaving behind the football field that has given him all he has.
However, if he does not retire, his future does not have to be in Kansas either. Some reports suggest that Kelce could be tempted by the New York Giants, allowing him and Swift to establish a permanent home base in the media capital of the world while he finishes his career under the bright lights of MetLife Stadium. But still, we do not know yet.
Mahomes wants Kelce to stay
The video Mahomes shared serves as a clear counter-narrative to the Giants’ noisy rumors. Mahomes is reminding Kelce and everyone else that their connection is and will be irreplaceable.
For now, Mahomes has already done his part to cement his presence in Kansas, recently agreeing to a $43.56 million contract restructure to clear cap space for the 2026 season. The money is there, the roster spots are being held, and now, it is time to let time decide what is awaiting us in the future.
