In a whirlwind of social media bravado that quickly fizzled, WWE star Logan Paul has abruptly backed out of his high-profile $1 million boxing challenge to NFL players. He capped the saga with pointed jabs at the two most vocal respondents: Le’Veon Bell and Breiden Fehoko.
In an X post made on Sunday, Paul disclosed WWE executives have barred him from the planned fight with NFL players due to injury risk during the Wrestlemania season. He then fired off insults at the two retired football players who showed the most interest in engaging him.
Thanks for the submission!
“Welp. The bosses called. Turns out I’m too valuable of a WWE Superstar to be fighting bums. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate @LeVeonBell and @BreidenFehoko for their 15 minutes of relevancy. Now back to being broke and retired. I’m going back to RAW every Monday on Netflix @WWE,” Paul wrote.

It would have been an interesting contest in the ring had Logan Paul accepted to fight former NFL running back Le’Veon Bell. The two-time All-Pro first-teamer switched to professional boxing after stepping away from football. He was certainly the most natural and most interesting opponent for Paul.

A fight between the two would have commanded a lot of attention in both the NFL and the combat sports world. The highlight fight in Paul’s boxing career was with Floyd Mayweather in 2023.
How Logan Paul triggered the fight saga with NFL players
The whole saga began after Tom Brady trash-talked Logan Paul about his athleticism on his “Impaulsive” podcast ahead a flag football game involving the two. In another episode of the podcast, the WWE star threw out an open challenge of a boxing fight with any NFL player, putting $1 million on the line.
“If any of the football players want to fight, we can see what happens. … I would put any amount of money that you could put,” Paul said. “Not a single football player could beat me in a boxing match. That is on God. … I would throttle Myles Garrett.
“Myles Garrett, I will bet you a million. Why did we choose him? It could be any name. But any football player, Myles Garrett, Puka Nakua, Tom Brady, I don’t even know. It doesn’t matter. A million dollars. A million dollars, you come to the gym, we put on boxing gloves, we see how it goes. Not a single one. There are levels to this shit.”
While the fight won’t be happening following Logan Paul’s bailing out, it has set the stage for what to expect in the Fanatics Flag Football Classics, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia. Even though Paul won’t get hit in the game, NFL players will be out to show him what it means to play the game at a top level.
