NFL analyst rips Trey Hendrickson for accepting $28M a year from Ravens after rejecting Bengals lucrative offer

The Baltimore Ravens reportedly signed Pro Bowl edge rusher Trey Hendrickson on Wednesday after backing out of their trade agreement for Maxx Crosby.

Hendrickson is reportedly moving to Baltimore after agreeing to a four-year, $112 million deal. The deal has $60 million in guaranteed money and a $20 million signing bonus.

Following his deal with the Ravens, NFL analyst Ace Boogie mocked the four-time Pro Bowler for rejecting the Cincinnati Bengals‘ offer last season.

“Lol bro took $28M a year but said the Bengals didn’t pay him his value.”

The Bengals reportedly offered Hendrickson a three-year $95 million contract in August. However, the star edge rusher declined the offer as it didn’t include guaranteed money in the second year. The Bengals eventually agreed to a reworked contract with a $14 million raise, taking his salary to $30 million for the 2025 season.

Although he was limited to seven games in 2025 due to a core muscle injury, Hendrickson has 39.0 sacks, third-most in the NFL since 2023. The veteran Pro Bowler will be up against his former team twice next season after signing for their AFC North rivals.

Ravens fended competition from several NFL teams to sign Trey Hendrickson

The Ravens backed out of their trade agreement for fellow edge rusher Maxx Crosby due to long-term concerns over his knee and ankle after his Physical in Baltimore.

Baltimore fended competition from the Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles to sign Trey Hendrickson, per NFL insider Jeremy Fowler.

“The Colts, Bills, Bucs, Commanders and Eagles all were involved in Trey Hendrickson’s free agency before the All-Pro agreed to terms with the Ravens, per sources,” Fowler wrote on X.

Hendrickson reportedly wanted a long-term deal in free agency and the Ravens offered him that.
