SocceristaFest is Girls Soccer Network’s flagship live event – a one-day festival created for girls who live the game and the families who support them. It brings together soccer, education, inspiration, creativity, and community in one immersive experience during World Cup summer. At this event, players, parents, and coaches will have the opportunity to hear from an exciting lineup of speakers, each bringing unique expertise and valuable insights into the world of sports. We’re thrilled to announce two more of our speakers today by introducing Asia Mape and Emily Perrin!
Asia Mape
Asia Mape is a content creator who helps youth sports parents thrive and the podcast producer of the women’s sports podcast I Love To Watch You Play. Her love for sports has manifested in telling the stories of athletes and guiding families as they navigate the journey of raising athletes. Asia is motivated by being of service to families and athletes, as well as by her three daughters, who excel in a wide range of sports.
Some advice she shares with girls and athletes is to “be intentional…embrace your failures and embrace the process.”
Asia believes girls and families need SocceristaFest because navigating youth sports, and doing so in a healthy way, can be challenging. She is most excited to “talk in person with other parents about their journeys” at SocceristaFest.
Asia is a four-time Emmy Award–winning journalist and sports television producer, and she will be an exceptional addition to our panel of speakers.
Fun Facts About Asia
-
Her favorite female athlete is Audi Crooks (especially during basketball season).
-
If her vibe were a color, it would be green.
-
One word she hopes girls feel when they leave SocceristaFest is empowered.
Emily Perrin

Emily Perrin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) and mental health therapist. She provides one-on-one clinical therapy with a specialty in trauma. Emily also serves as a mindfulness and performance coach through her company, Perrin Wellness and Performance, where she works with athletes, coaches, and teams to build resilience for both sport and life.
Additionally, Emily is an adjunct professor at Drexel University in the School of Nursing and Health Professions, where she develops comprehensive injury recovery and resiliency programming. She also serves as the Director of the Medical Advisory Council at Morgan’s Message, a nonprofit organization dedicated to removing the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community.
Emily is motivated by the progress being made toward creating a sports culture that prioritizes the safety, well-being, and respect of all participants — including athletes, coaches, parents, and leaders. She believes that “every single person in the United States, regardless of identity or social context, should have the opportunity to engage in sport and have an uplifting and empowering experience.” She is driven each day by the opportunity to make a positive impact on someone’s life.
Her advice to girls and athletes is:
“You are worthy, lovable, and good enough regardless of what you do or accomplish in life. Your worth as a person is inherent within you. Walk through the world believing and knowing that you are enough.”
Emily believes girls and families need SocceristaFest because, historically, the needs of female athletes have not been prioritized. When girls have access to spaces like this, they can build stronger connections and gain the tools to navigate sports culture in healthy ways.
She is most excited to be part of an event centered on empowering athletes and looks forward to dedicating her time, energy, and resources to supporting the next generation of female athletes.
