Athletics Kenyas has suspended all activities that have been organized by Schorlabook International in Kenya. In a presser to media houses, Athletics Kenya cited non-compliance with among other things, event organization requirements in line with AK’s role as the sole national organization in charge of the sport of Athletics in Kenya as provided for in the Sports Act, 2013.
Subsequent to this direct violation of the directive, AK issued the suspension accusing Scholarbook International proceeded to publicize and organize a ‘time trials/recruitment’ event named ‘Golden ticket training’ scheduled for 12th March 2026 at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru with information circulated through social media platforms.
Nevertheless, Scholarbook Premier Sports Academy has contested the above cancellation in a dispute filed before the Sports Disputes Tribunal in SDTSC /E015/2026 – Scholarbook Premier Sports v Athletics Kenya. In the Orders issued today (11th March 2026), the Sports Disputes Tribunal declined to grant the petition by Scholarbook Premier Sports Academy to allow the above event to take place as scheduled tomorrow.
As a result the even remains cancelled pending the hearing and determination of the said dispute before the Sports Disputes Tribunal.
Athletics Kenya advises all athletes and Athlete Support Personnel not to participate in this event or in any other activities organized by Scholarbook International until officially communicated otherwise by Athletics Kenya.
Participation in non-sanctioned events by the federation may expose athletes to regulatory and eligibility risks under national and international athletics governance frameworks. We urge the athletics fraternity to adhere strictly to AK guidelines and to verify the status of events with the federation before committing to participate.
