Giron opened with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win over Daniel Merida, then survived a dramatic battle against Jay Friend 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(9) before beating fourth seed Nuno Borges 7-6(8), 6-2. In the semifinals he rallied past top seed Corentin Moutet 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the final.
Ethan Quinn has also impressed, beating Alexander Shevchenko, then Michael Mmoh 6-1, 6-3, edging Benjamin Bonzi in two tight tiebreak sets and defeating Billy Harris 7-6, 7-5 in the semifinals.
The final could be close. Giron’s experience may help him control the big moments, but Quinn’s fearless hitting has troubled many opponents this week. If Quinn keeps playing aggressively, this could turn into a tight three-set battle.
