Tottenham Hotspur could still be tempted to bring in a new manager before the end of the season, despite Igor Tudor picking up a victory against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.
Tudor picks up first victory as Spurs boss
Tottenham bowed out of the Champions League at the round of 16 stage on Wednesday night, losing 7-5 on aggregate against Atletico, despite recording a 3-2 victory on the night, which was Tudor’s first win as interim boss.
Despite exiting the competition, the Croatian was pleased by his side’s performance, and suggested it could give them some momentum heading into an important final eight games of the Premier League season, with the Lilywhites still just one point above the relegation zone.
Tudor said: “I think we performed very well, it was sensational. The guys pushed from the first moment. They believed that we can do it so that was the key.
“I’m sad because we didn’t pass, but good for morale. For everyone, not just for the players, but the club and the fans, before we finish the season. It will be important.”
With Spurs also managing to pick up a draw at Anfield at the weekend, Tudor has quietened some of the noise surrounding his future, but it has now been revealed ENIC could still replace him before the end of the season.
Tottenham eyeing pre-summer move for “outstanding” manager
According to journalist Rudy Galetti on X, Tottenham have been gathering information on former AS Monaco manager Adi Hutter, who is available after being dismissed by the French side back in October.
Galetti makes it clear Hutter could be brought in before the end of the campaign, but he is also an option for the summer, at which point Tudor is set to leave.
Although being dismissed by Monaco is a red flag, the 56-year-old, who prefers to use a 4-2-3-1 system, has impressed in some of his previous roles, with former Eintracht Frankfurt board member Fredi Bobic saying: “His CV is impressive, he has proved through his work at several clubs that he knows how to get the most out of limited resources.”
The Austrian won the Bundesliga coach of the year award twice during his time with Frankfurt, and he has lifted a total of five trophies across a successful career, during spells with SC Grodig, Red Bull Salzburg and BSC Young Boys.

Hutter’s lack of experience in the Premier League could be viewed as a problem, but he is a very experienced manager, who knows what it takes to win silverware, so he should definitely be on Spurs’ shortlist this summer.
