Corey Heim wins NASCAR Truck Series race at Darlington with heroic restart

Corey Heim restarted ninth with two laps to go in Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Darlington Raceway, but with the help of fresh tires and a herculean effort, passed Ross Chastain in the final corner to score the 24th win of his Truck Series career.

Heim also won $50,000 as a part of NASCAR’s Triple Truck Challenge.

Heim pitted late, and while he had no fresh sticker tires left in the pits, he did have a set of scuffs with only five laps on them available.

“Sure enough, I just felt like I made all the right moves,” Heim told Fox Sports. “Bombed it off in there on Ross. Glad we could get this No. 5 Tundra into victory lane. I drove the crap out of it, and it worked out.”
