The Crimson Nightmare boss is a true nightmare in Crimson Desert if you don’t know the proper mechanics to defeat it. Once you figure out the trick then it’s pretty easy to destroy it.
Personally, I spent hours trying to defeat this boss. I even refined my weapon, but still ineffective against it. I only succeeded after I figured out the exact mechanism to beat it.
To simplify the process, here is a guide that provides a detailed procedure on how you should approach the Crimson Nightmare boss and the trick to defeat it in Crimson Desert.
Crimson Desert guide: How to defeat the Crimson Nightmare boss
The Crimson Nightmare is a boss in Fort Perwin. This fort is controlled by Bleed Bandits. First, progress the main story and do not go there immediately. I went there during the Scholastone subquest (Under chapter 4), where you need to cross this region. However, it is not mandatory. You can go around and completely ignore this enemy area to reach the Scholastone Institute.
When you first reach the gate, you will find multiple enemies. I mean it, the sheer number of enemies is overwhelming. Just eliminate them. As you head inside, you will see the boss arena in the elevated section. Do not go there before clearing out the bandits. Once they are clear, head up there, and the battle will begin.
The Crimson Nightmare boss is made up of poison dust particles with a diamond-shaped object in the center. Since it is basically dust, swords cannot damage it directly. You need proper technique. Here is the trick that makes this fight significantly easier.
The trick is to use the Axiom Force skill. You need to aim and grab that diamond-shaped object using the skill, then pull it to the ground by pressing LT or L2 on controllers and right mouse click on PC. This will slam the boss into the ground and stun it. Quickly approach it and deal as much damage as possible. Repeat this process three or four times, and you will easily defeat the boss.
Additional tips:
- Bring enough food to restore your health.
- If any bandits come to attack, just step out of bounds and defeat them. The game gives you 30 seconds to return to the arena. This is enough time to defeat the bandits and return safely. It is much easier to tackle these additional enemies outside without getting attacked by the boss at the same time.
- If you get defeated, it’s best not to press Retry, instead Give up and come again.
