FC Barcelona is evaluating a major attack restructuring this summer. The plan includes listening to offers for Ferran Torres in order to add several new offensive signings, according to ESPN.
A revolution in the attack
According to various sources who spoke to ESPN, up to two new strikers could arrive at Bara, with Ferran Torres as the main player to be sacrificed in order to take the attack to another level.
With the goal of raising funds and investing in new signings, they prefer to let Torres leave. The 26-year-old has a contract until 2027. In fact, his name is a higher priority for departure than Robert Lewandowski, despite the significant age difference.
In addition, the plan with the Polish striker is for him to renew his contract, which expires this summer, as Bara president Joan Laporta recently confirmed.
It is sporting director Deco who is working on the alternatives available to the team. The name of Julin lvarez, the Argentina international and Atltico Madrid forward, is one of the main transfer targets. They are also looking into ways to extend the stay of a player who has become decisive: Marcus Rashford.
Bara holds an option to make the England international‘s loan from Manchester United permanent for around 30 million, although their intention is to lower that figure or extend the loan deal for one more season. The club acknowledges that none of the three operations – renewing Lewandowski, signing Julin lvarez, or retaining Rashford – will be easy, which is why they are also analyzing other alternatives to strengthen both the center forward position and the wing positions.
