Tommaso Ciampa is set to compete with a rising star in professional wrestling this weekend. The former WWE star has become an integral part of AEW’s mid-card division. Therefore, his upcoming match is set to play a crucial role in his momentum in the company.
The Psycho Killer will face Ace Austin this week on Collision. Austin made his debut in All Elite Wrestling last year, and he has been doing his best to become a top name in the company since then. On the August 16 episode of Collision in 2025, the 29-year-old competed against Ricochet in his in-ring debut for AEW. However, he failed to win his debut showdown with the former National Champion.
AEW announced the clash between Ciampa and Austin on their social media handle following the episode of Dynamite. The show will take place at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Nonetheless, it will be an important match for both Tommaso Ciampa and Ace Austin later this week.
Tommaso Ciampa scored a major win last week on Collision
Tommaso Ciampa is currently after the TNT Championship in All Elite Wrestling. Last week, the former WWE star collided with Lio Rush in a showdown that took the internet wrestling world by storm. However, despite Rush’s valiant efforts, the former TNT Champion went on to pick up a major win.
It was Rush’s debut match in the company with the new gimmick. Therefore, it made a lot of buzz on social media among the wrestling fans. Many fans felt that AEW might hand him a big win over Ciampa to boost his presence on the roster. But that was not the case as The Black Heart is still brimming with momentum in the company.
With that said, it will be interesting to see what Tony Khan has planned for Tommaso Ciampa from here on. The company is set to host Dynasty and All In in the coming months, where Tommaso could play a major role in the title picture.
