BREAKING: WWE cancels major title match ahead of SmackDown

The Triple H-led creative team has canceled a major WWE championship match ahead of the upcoming edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The company made the change secretly.

Tiffany Stratton has been eyeing Giulia’s Women’s United States Championship for a while now. On last week’s SmackDown, the 32-year-old star told the Buff Barbie that she would get her title shot if she proved herself against Kiana James. Tiffy faced James and ultimately defeated her. After this, the Stamford-based promotion announced that Stratton would face Giulia for the title on the upcoming edition of the blue brand’s show.

However, ahead of SmackDown, the Triple H-led creative team has quietly canceled this title match. In a preview of the blue brand’s show, the TKO-led promotion is now advertising Tiffany Stratton vs. Giulia as a non-title match.

“Will SmackDown be Tiffy’s Time, or is it time for Giulia to reaffirm her dominance? Women’s United States Champion Giulia is set to clash with former WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton in an explosive non-title showdown on The Road to WrestleMania. Don’t miss all the action of SmackDown, Friday at 8 ET/7 CT on USA,” the company wrote.

Tiffany Stratton and Giulia are reportedly set to lock horns at WWE WrestleMania 42

WWE could have canceled Tiffany Stratton vs. Giulia for the Women’s United States Championship on SmackDown for a major reason. According to a recent report by Bodyslam+, the Triple H-led creative team is planning for this title clash at WrestleMania 42.

Stratton has already proven her worth as the Women’s Champion last year. On the other hand, many fans believe Giulia‘s Women’s United States Championship run has been lackluster due to her poor booking. It will be interesting to see if the Stamford-based promotion will put the title on The Buff Barbie soon.
