Liverpool want Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye to replace Mohamed Salah

Liverpool have identified Everton’s versatile forward Iliman Ndiaye as a potential option to replace Mohamed Salah, according to Fichajes.

After producing 25 goal contributions for Sheffield United in the 2022-23 Championship season, Ndiaye became one of the most sought-after forwards before Marseille won the race to sign him.

    Rememore new hair

After struggling to make an impact at the Stade Velodrome, the versatile forward secured a move to Everton in 2025, where he has since rediscovered his form.

Although he had a slow start, he has since nailed a place in the Toffees lineup and is emerging as one of the Premier League’s most dynamic forwards.

He has extended his form into the ongoing campaign, netting six goals and providing three assists for Everton, who are on an ambitious European qualification campaign.

The 26-year-old was also instrumental to Senegal’s recent African Cup of Nations qualification triumph in January, and his displays for both country and club have drawn keen interest.

Now, following Mohamed Salah’s announcement to depart Anfield, the Reds have been exploring possible replacements, with the latest being Ndiaye.

This is according to Fichajes, which claims that last season’s Premier League champions have identified the versatile forward as a potential replacement for Salah.

Having highlighted his dribbling, creativity and adaptability to the Premier League since joining, the Reds have decided to make Ndiaye the ‘top priority’ to reinforce their wide areas next season, as per the report.

    ‘Top priority’

However, Fichajes adds that Liverpool are aware that sealing a deal for Ndiaye won’t be easy due to the local rivalry with Everton, who have set a £43m valuation on the France-born Senegalese international.

As a result, Arne Slot’s side are not just presenting an improved salary but a guaranteed key role in the first team should a move be completed, the report adds.

Ndiae has enjoyed a strong run of form this season, with the highlight of his campaign being the goal-of-the-season contender against Sunderland in matchweek ten.

The winger’s dribbling has also been his standout quality, with an average of 2.2 successful dribbles per 90 minutes, which is more than other, more expensive options like Bradley Barcola, who has 1.3 in Ligue 1 this season.

Ndiaye has enjoyed an excellent season with the Toffees, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 25 Premier League games.

While he’s not a like-for-like replacement for Salah, he could still offer the constant threat and creativity of the Egyptian should a move be completed.
