The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) just kicked off their 14th regular season earlier this month. This season also marks the inaugural seasons for the Denver Summit FC and Boston Legacy FC. With almost three weeks into the 2026 regular season, here are the NWSL’s current stat leaders.
Goals
Angel City FC forward Sveindís Jónsdóttir currently leads the league in goals with three. Three other players have also scored three goals, but Jónsdóttir is the only one who has done it in three games. Jónsdóttir is originally from Iceland, where she plays for the Iceland womens national team. She spent most of her career playing professionally in Germany, but, in 2025, she made the decision to sign with Angel City.
Despite struggling to find her footing last season, Jónsdóttir has helped Angel City go undefeated in all three of their matches this season. On top of her league-leading three goals, she also has two assists.
Assists
Currently, San Diego Wave forward Maria Eduarda Rodrigues Silva, better known as Dudinha, is the NWSL’s assist leader. She currently has three assists in San Diego’s four games this season. Dudinha was born in Brazil, where she plays for the Brazil womens national team and started her professional career.
This offseason, the Wave acquired Dudinha from São Paulo FC. She has made an immediate impact as San Diego currently sits second in the NWSL regular season standings. Dudinha also scored the third fastest goal in club history with one of the top 10 goals this season.
Shots
Orlando Pride forward Barbra Banda is the NWSL’s current shot leader. In the four games she’s played for the Pride this season, Banda has 16 shots and three goals. She also leads the league in shots-on-target with 10.
Banda is originally from Zambia and plays for their womens national team. In 2024, she started her NWSL career with a splash, winning NWSL Championship MVP honors. The Confederation of African Football also named Banda the African Women’s Footballer of the Year.
Saves
In her four games played this season, Denver Summit goalkeeper Abby Smith currently leads the league with 20 saves. One of her saves against Orlando even garnered her last week’s NWSL Save of the Week. Denver currently sits in the middle of the NWSL standings in their inaugural season.
Smith was raised in Texas and eventually went on to play soccer for the University of Texas. After her impressive collegiate career with the Longhorns, she was drafted in the third round of the 2026 NWSL College Draft. She went on to play for seven different teams and is now a 10-year veteran with two NWSL Championships under her belt.
