WATCH: Robert MacIntyre’s F-bomb during Valero Texas Open final round

Robert MacIntyre had the Valero Texas Open in his hands, but the trophy slipped away on the final day. As a result, the frustration was evident on the golfer’s face as he dropped an F-bomb during the final round.

MacIntyre entered the final round at TPC San Antonio with a lead despite shooting 72 in the penultimate round. On the par-five eighth of the final round, MacIntyre’s third shot didn’t travel far enough towards the green and fell quite short.

Following his poor wedge shot, his reaction was caught on camera live.

“THAT IS f—ing s—t!” he said.

    Here’s a video:

As a result, Robert MacIntyre had to settle for a par instead of a birdie and eventually carded 2-under 70. The 29-year-old Scot tied for second at 16-under and finished one stroke behind the winner, J.J. Spaun.

“Wasn’t too bad” Robert MacIntyre reacts to his performance at the Valero Texas Open 2026

Following the joint runner-up finish, Robert Macintyre reflected on his performance in the post-round press conference.

“It wasn’t too bad,” he said. “This morning was difficult. Obviously the course wasn’t set up for the wind of today, it was set up for yesterday’s conditions, so it was difficult this morning. This afternoon was a bit easier.

“Probably from about 10 onwards we had the wind kind of — wind didn’t die down, but it got a little bit warmer, so it was a bit more predictable. Yeah, it was a tough week. Just it was solid, but just disappointing not to get a win,” he added.

The purse size of the Valero Texas Open was $9.8 million, and MacIntyre bagged $741,533.31 for the joint second-place finish.

MacIntyre is having a solid season so far and has put up some really good results in 2026. He started the year with a T4 finish at the Sony Open in Hawaii and hasn’t missed a cut so far. He also came close to winning the Players Championship but eventually tied for fourth. So far, he has had five top 25s in seven starts and hasn’t finished worse than T38.
