Happy 61st birthday to five-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro and a 2025 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Sterling Sharpe!
Sharpe was selected with the seventh-overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers after a strong career as both a running back and wide receiver at South Carolina. Playing wide receiver in the NFL, Sharpe led the league in receptions three times, touchdowns twice and yards once.
In 1992 he won the receiving triple crown, leading the league in receptions (108), receiving yards (1,461) and touchdowns (13). In his seventh and final season, he set a Packers franchise-record by catching 18 TD’s, a number that has been matched only by Davante Adams’ 2020 performance in Packers history.
