Gael Monfils vs Alexander Bublik preview
Monfils, who is in the twilight of his career, will look to add a couple of memories. The Frenchman arrived on the scene in 2004 as an 18-year-old. The former World No. 6, with 13 ATP Singles Tour titles, has shattered the record for the most ATP Masters 1000 wins among Frenchmen (145), surpassing Richard Gasquet. Apart from this, the 39-year-old has struggled to go past the second round in the tournaments.
On the other hand, Bublik broke into the top 10 for the first time in January after dropping to No. 80 in April 2025. In 2026, Bublik became the first player from Kazakhstan to reach the fourth round of all Grand Slams, after reaching the second week of the Australian Open. Bublik has stayed consistent throughout the year, defeating Lorenzo Musetti at the Bank of China Hong Kong Tennis Open final to lift the title.

Gael Monfils vs Alexander Bublik prediction
Monfils has struggled with age and crashed out in the opening rounds of the ASB Classic and Australian Open. He managed to reach the second in the Mexican Open, the Indian Wells Masters, and most recently at the Monte-Carlo Masters. In a three-set thriller, he overwhelmed World No. 32 Tallon Griekspoor despite trailing after a closely fought opener.
On the other hand, Bublik began the season on a positive note, reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open. His inspiring run was cut short by Alex de Minaur, who overpowered him with an emphatic victory. Bublik maintained his impressive form and stormed into the semi-finals at the Rotterdam Open, but got outplayed by Felix Auger-Aliassime. In his most recent appearance, Bublik was stunned by the former World No. 6 Matteo Berrettini in the opening round of the Miami Open.
Over the years, Bublik has moved on from his initial struggles on dirt and produced compelling performances. He claimed his first ATP clay-court title at the 2025 Swiss Open. On the other hand, Monfils, the 2008 French Open semi-finalist, has an impressive record at clay. However, the 2016 finalist in the competition would need to keep the rallies short to stand a chance against Bublik.
