“Eagles are making a mistake trading A.J. Brown”: LeSean McCoy sounds off on Howie Roseman reportedly shopping WR to Patriots

A.J. Brown has been in the spotlight this week after reports have claimed that the Philadelphia Eagles might eventually trade the superstar wideout. Brown has long been linked with a move to Mike Vrabel’s New England Patriots after a frustrating 2025 season with Philly.

When former NFL running back LeSean McCoy found out about the reports of Brown potentially leaving Philly, he suggested that general manager Howie Roseman might be making a mistake trading the WR.

“They think the grass is greener on the other side, (but) I don’t think it is,” McCoy said on the “Speakeasy” show on Monday. “People still gameplan for him (Brown), and maybe his stats don’t show it all the time. … Since Brown has come to the Eagles, everything has been better. … When he’s gone, it’s gonna be different, and I don’t wanna see that.”

A.J. Brown has helped the Eagles reach two Super Bowls since he joined the team. In the big game in 2023, Philly lost 38-35 to the Kansas City Chiefs.

At Super Bowl 2025, Brown’s Eagles beat the Chiefs 40-22.

Last season, Brown expressed frustration with the Eagles’ offensive system. However, earlier in the offseason, Roseman said that the team doesn’t have any plans to trade the wideout.

Now, it remains to be seen if Brown will sign for a new franchise this offseason.

Brown played under Vrabel at Tennessee and there are rumors that the two might reunite at New England.
