It’s become commonplace for people to criticize Bronny James over the past couple of years. A large subsection of fans believe he’s only on an NBA roster because he’s LeBron James‘ son. Regardless of whether that’s true or not, Bronny has already developed in his second season in the NBA.
Right now, he’s in the midst of the Los Angeles Lakers‘ postseason run, as the team has gotten off to a surprising 2-0 start in their first round series against the Houston Rockets – without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. Bronny should be thrilled with how everything is going, but a streetball player has come out to splash cold water on his accomplishments – with help from Logan Paul, of all people.
Streetball player Matt Kiatipis tells Logan Paul he would beat Bronny James, and that Drake agrees
Appearing on the Impaulsive podcast, Matt Kiatipis was prompted by Paul on how a 1-on-1 matchup between him and Bronny would go. Given that Kiatipis calls himself the “1v1 King”, he was overly confident with his response in terms of who would win.
You know the answer. You answer that. Smart man, you’re on my side. Drake‘s on my side. Get that lil man LeBron James supporting his little kid, and then we’ll make it happen. They’re not built like that. For the 1s, it’s a different sport. I am the most feared, the best 1-on-1 basketball player in the world.
That might be true given that James doesn’t play streetball, but Bronny is currently playing a minor role in the NBA Playoffs. Even if it’s a “different sport“, the point is still to score points. NBA players are a different breed, regardless of how minor of a role they play on their teams.
Kiatipis got laughed at in the comments of the video clip where he made the statement. Former NBA star Michael Beasley posted three laughing emojis, while others made note that Kiatipis has struggled to beat “random Brazilians” in the past.
