Arsenal supporters need to strap in and enjoy the ride over the next few weeks, with the fans potentially seeing their club reach new ground come the end of May.
Mikel Arteta’s side are within touching distance of claiming Premier League glory for the first time in 20 years, with three wins all that’s needed to lift the trophy.
However, the Gunners could also claim their first-ever Champions League trophy in a couple of weeks time, but will have to get past defending champions PSG in Budapest.
Regardless of what happens, huge credit needs to be handed the manager’s way for his efforts at the Emirates, with the Spaniard undoubtedly proving a lot of doubters wrong.
Any success will only strengthen the club’s chances in the transfer market this summer, which could see new top-level European talents arrive in North London.
Arsenal in talks to sign £73m star this summer
Even before the summer transfer window opens, Arsenal have already conducted ground work on a number of potential additions to bolster Arteta’s side.
Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo has emerged as just one possible option for the Gunners, after catching the eye with his displays for Botafogo.
The Brazilian could be set for another transfer after the upcoming World Cup, with a fee in the region of £35m mooted to secure a deal for the 25-year-old star.
However, he’s not the only player currently in their sights at present, with Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon also being considered ahead of the summer window.
According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal are in the mix regarding a possible move for the winger, with the transfer insider suggesting that talks have been held as the Gunners are being ‘kept informed’ over the potential asking price.
Despite the efforts, Arteta’s side aren’t alone in the race for the Englishman’s signature, with Bayern Munich already in ‘club-to-club talks’, while both Barcelona and Liverpool are also in the frame.
Any deal for the 25-year-old would be yet another expensive one from the hierarchy, as Eddie Howe’s side currently value the forward at around the (€85m) £73m mark.
Why Gordon would end Martinelli’s Arsenal career
Arsenal’s heavy spending in recent seasons has no doubt made them a force to be reckoned with, but the left-wing position is an area that still desperately needs bolstering.
Gabriel Martinelli has been the club’s number one option in such a department in recent times, but it could well prove to be the end of the road for the Brazilian this summer.

He’s featured in 28 of the Gunners’ 35 league games to date, but only managed to register one goal and three assists in that time – a tally way below what’s expected of the forward.
He’s shared the responsibility of starting with Leandro Trossard throughout the current campaign, with neither a top-level player who can take the club to the next level.
As a result, the club’s work ahead of the transfer window is hardly a surprise, with added quality needed in such a department regardless of any success this term.
Gordon would undoubtedly offer Arsenal the calibre of player they have been hunting for, as seen by his remarkable figures in the Premier League this campaign.
The winger, who’s been labelled “phenomenal” by former coach Paul Tait, has registered six times more goals this campaign – highlighting his added quality in the final third.
The Englishman’s higher shot on rate accuracy rate also demonstrates the added cutting edge he would provide to Arteta’s side upon any transfer this summer.
However, he’s also been a more creative option than Martinelli in 2025/26, with his tally of 1.3 chances created per 90 higher than that of the Brazilian to date.
Higher tallies for dribbles completed per 90, crosses completed per 90 and fouls won per 90, only add to the argument that Gordon is a bigger talent than the current Gunners star.
Only 10% of attackers in the division have been fouled more than the Englishman this campaign, which highlights the opposition’s need to foul the forward to stop him getting to full tilt.
£73m would be a huge investment for Arsenal this summer, but it’s a deal that could finally see the club land the top-level left-winger they have been craving.
Bayern Munich’s interest will mean the hierarchy will have to work tirelessly to avoid missing out on his signature – especially to a huge European rival in the process.
Martinelli would no doubt feel hard done by should Gordon make a move to North London, but ultimately it’s a move that would be for the best of the football club.
