Leeds United have stormed into the race to sign Ermedin Demirovic from Stuttgart this summer, as Daniel Farke looks to complete his attacking rebuild.
Leeds seriously interested in Bundesliga attacker
The beach may be calling some at Elland Road after eventually cruising towards survival, but the recruitment team have no time to put their feet up. It’s another important summer at Elland Road, with the chance to kick on beyond relegation battles presenting itself for all to see ahead of next season.
Plenty of names are beginning to appear on the Whites’ radar as a result, including Juventus forward Jonathan David. The Canada international is one of many strikers that Leeds have been linked with, but could yet be beaten to the move by a Bundesliga star.
According to Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Leeds are now seriously plotting a move to sign Demirovic from Stuttgart this summer.
The Bundesliga forward has also attracted interest from Lazio, but they’ve been out off by his €30m (£26m) price-tag – potentially allowing Leeds to swoop in unchallenged.

At 28 years old and with 131 goals to his name throughout his career, Demirovic is an experienced player these days. If Leeds are looking to hand Dominic Calvert-Lewin some strong competition, then he’s certainly their man.
The forward is certainly highly-rated in Germany, too. Stuttgart chief Fabian Wohlgemuth previously told reporters: “Ermedin has proven his special quality for several years now.
“He’s among the Bundesliga’s top strikers, impressing both as a goalscorer and a provider. His experience and mentality make him a real plus for our team.”
It’s high praise for a player who may well be heading to Elland Road ahead of Leeds’ second season back in the Premier League.
Farke insists 49ers are “ambitious” at Leeds
There was once a time when Farke’s future at the club was in question. Those days are long gone. It was the German’s tactical genius which dragged Leeds away from the dropzone and towards comfortable survival. Now, it looks like he could be rewarded in the summer transfer window.
He told reporters: “Ambition means for me always to develop as a club, always to set yourself goals and new goals once you’ve achieved. We’ve done it, how can we develop and evolve further on?”
“I know key people in the club are ambitious as well. What is the way, what are the processes? This is crucial, not just to speak about things, but to back it up with actions and this is what we’re trying to figure out.
“I’m not addicted to a three-year vision, but it’s important also to plan a bit in the mid to long term. It’s always good to speak about a period between three to five years.”
