The Swampweed Harvest side-quest in Gothic 1 remake brings you one step closer to joining the Swamp Camp. As the name implies, this involves collecting swampweed from all over the place and handing it over to Cor Kalom. You unlock this quest once you complete Ghorim’s Replacement and talk to Baal Orun. Once you accept his request, this side-quest will begin.
So, in this guide, we will take a look at how to complete the Swampweed Harvest mission in Gothic 1 remake.
How to complete the Swampweed Harvest side-quest in Gothic 1 remake?
1) Collect Swampweed from Balor
After getting the quest from Baal Orun, you have to go looking for the weed collectors in the swamp. Unfortunately, there aren’t any markers provided so you have to wander a bit in the swamp to find them. Use the map if you need to figure out where you are at any given point.
Here’s how to get to Balor:
- Take the northeastern path after turning around once you are done speaking to Baal Orun.
- Then go west, passing the Novice and the Templar on your right.
- Follow the path of the open log wooden bridge and keep going until you reach a fork.
- Take the left path and keep going until you hit another crossroads.
- Take the right path and you will end up at Balor’s hut.
Balor gratefully provides you the swampweed he has collected. However, he warns you to also collect Viran’s weed before going to Cor Kalom. Otherwise he might think that you stole some of the swampweed.

2) Collect Swampweed from Viran
Viran is easier to locate as he can be found in a house with two storeys located on the far east of the barrier. Just check the map and keep going in that general direction. However, Viran is not as trusting as Balor and asks you to kill all the bloodflies within twenty paces of his house.
Skip time until its morning so that it becomes easier to spot the bloodflies. Your best bet is to equip yourself with a bow and arrows to pick them off.
There are three separate hordes of bloodflies that are towards the left, the right, and in front of Viran’s house. Once you have dealt with all of them, return to Viran who is suitably impressed and gives you his swampweed harvest.

3) Give the Swampweed Harvest to Cor Kalom
Return to the Swamp Camp and give Cor Kalom the swampweed you have collected. After that return to Baal Orun and report your delivery. Impressed by your work, he will give you a Sleep Scroll as a reward as well as gain his favor.
