Mercedes Mone seemingly fires huge shot at her former boss Triple H

AEW top star Mercedes Mone seemingly took a huge jab at her former boss and current WWE Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

The CEO rose to prominence as ‘Sasha Banks’ and had a remarkable tenure in WWE that lasted almost a decade. During that time, Mercedes Mone won multiple titles, headlined major events (including WrestleMania), and became a pioneer in the Women’s Revolution. However, she abruptly walked out of WWE in May 2022 after reported creative and other differences with the company, and possibly with top personnel like Triple H and former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

The former RAW Women’s Champion took a break from wrestling before signing a full-time deal with rival promotion AEW in 2024, and has since taken her fame and popularity to unprecedented heights. Moreover, Mercedes Mone recently returned to the Jacksonville-based promotion after an almost six-month absence and spoke about many topics in the latest edition of her Moné Mag Newsletter.

However, one of the interesting things to highlight in this edition was a picture of Mercedes Mone and her current boss, Tony Khan. The CEO could be seen doing the finger-pointing pose towards Khan. It could be a fiery shot taken at his former employer, Triple H, who made that pose famous by pointing at WWE superstars backstage while taking photos.

Mercedes Mone on her return to AEW after almost six months

As mentioned, Mercedes Mone made her shocking comeback to AEW on the June 3 episode of Dynamite after a six-month hiatus. During that time, she had been wrestling for promotions outside Tony Khan’s company. In the same edition of the Moné Mag Newsletter, Ultimo Mone said that wherever she went, people said they missed her, which meant a lot to her, and she expressed gratitude for the amazing work environment at AEW.

“I felt so missed. Everywhere I went people welcomed me back and told me how much they missed me. It honestly meant a lot. I’m so thankful to be in such an amazing work environment and surrounded by people I genuinely care about.”- H/T Drainmaker on X

Furthermore, Mone has already advanced to the semi-finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament by defeating Alex Windsor. So, it remains to be seen if her resurgence could be capped by winning the Owen Cup for the second straight year.
