Beginner tips for Star Wars Zero Company
Feel free to switch specializations

As you progress through the story of Star Wars Zero Company, you’ll unlock several companions who will join you in your journey. All of these come with a specialization selected by default, but the game allows you to change this.
Oftentimes, changing a character’s specialization may work to the benefit of your overall build. For instance, Kabb Uppercut is a Scoundrel by default. However, if you switch his specialization to Soldier, you can amplify his melee damage and his Uppercut Talent.
Mould the custom operators to your liking
While the story helps you unlock certain operators, you can also recruit custom operators in your Den. These are randomly generated operators that come with a randomized pool of abilities. More importantly, you can respec these characters freely, which then allows you to mould them to your liking. While the story companions may certainly seem more important due to their narrative significance, do not overlook the custom operators in your playthrough.
Use the Den map
You can access the Den map by pressing the Map button displayed on the bottom right of your screen. Pressing this then shows you a map of the hub area, which tells you all you need to know about it.
For instance, instead of walking around the area and talking to each NPC to check if they have any storyline updates, you can opt to see the map. If the NPC has a dialogue icon over the map, it indicates that they have new dialogue for you and are worth visiting.
The map also allows you to fast travel between the terminals, saving you time in the process. However, if you wish to soak in and immerse yourself in the game’s atmosphere, consider ignoring this fast-travel feature.
Take on Operations
Operations are one of the main side activities you can engage with in Star Wars Zero Company. These are special text-based assignments that grant you rewards such as Credits, which are crucial to your overall progression in the game. Therefore, make it a point to take on Operations whenever available. They’re text-based and don’t really require a long commitment, and the rewards are well worth the effort.

Earn Intel

To take on Operations, you need Intel, which is one of the main currencies you’ll be managing in Star Wars Zero Company. There are multiple ways to acquire this currency. One way is to play through the Tactical missions, which will then earn you the currency. Another is to find the currency as a collectable during missions. Finally, you may also get this currency during conversations with NPCs. Seek Intel and then use it to launch Operations.
Expand your Influence
Zone Influence is one of the mechanics that’ll be introduced to you early on, and may seem inconsequential in the grand scheme of the saga, but the truth couldn’t be farther from it. Expanding Influence across Zones allows you to unlock new rewards, which in turn help you improve your efficiency in combat.
For instance, increasing your Influence in Zone Cresh allows you to increase your Intel cap and grants greater Intel upon completing a mission. Pick a Zone and increase your Influence to unlock all three tiers of rewards.

You can cheese fights with Push abilities

There is no shortage of difficult encounters in the game; however, there is a way to cheese some of them. As you progress through the game, you’ll unlock abilities that allow you to push enemies. For instance, the Jedi Tel-Rea Vokoss can use her Force to push enemies and send them flying. An ability like that is incredibly useful when you’re on maps that have pits. Push your enemies into pits, and you can then kill them with minimal effort.
Set up Overwatch
Overwatch is a defensive area that you can set up in Star Wars Zero Company. When you set this up, you establish a highlighted cone facing a direction. If an enemy then steps into this cone, your character automatically attacks them. Overwatch is one of the best ways to defend yourself against aggressive melee-based enemies. Make sure to set it up from the radial menu during combat.
Use weapon mods
As you go about improving your weapons, make sure to add weapon mods to them. Weapon mods allow you to add additional perks to a weapon, which can then improve its overall performance. We recommend going for mods that synergize with your build. For instance, if you’re going for a defensive or tank build, you can opt for mods that improve your overall defense proportional to the shots you fire.
Astromech will help you
Finally, don’t forget to call on Astromech to help you. This is a special droid that supports you during combat by providing you with AP, which is incredibly useful. You can use the Astromech to refill the AP of your strongest operator, letting them move around without worrying about unnecessarily draining AP. Furthermore, if you fully upgrade the droid’s ultimate, you can permanently grant +2 AP to allies, which further improves your capabilities in battle.
