It was a banner day for Enric Mas (Movistar) even if he lost 30 seconds to Primož Roglič on stage 19 of the 2026 Vuelta a España.
Mas retains far more of his overall lead than anyone expected in the 32.1 individual time trial, finishing 12th on the stage won by Stefan Küng (Tudor).
Felix Gall (Decathlon CMA CGM) suffered at the hands of Primož Roglič (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe), who gained 1:28 on Gall and climbed over him into second place.

Roglič is 1:37 behind Mas after the time trial, with Gall now at 3:01 in third.
Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) had a relatively strong ride, slipping a little bit after losing 53 seconds to Mas, but holding onto fourth place at 5:17.
Oscar Onley (Netcompany Ineos) also lost time to Mas, but limited it to just 19 seconds to remain in fifth place overall at 6:03.
Jakob Omrzel (Bahrain Victorious) continued to impress, also holding onto his previous position of sixth place in the GC standings. He lost 46 seconds and is now at 7:00.

Clement Berthet (Groupama-FDJ United) jumped up two places after finishing 20th on the stage, 28 seconds slower than Mas. He got ahead of Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek) and Cristian Rodriguez (XDS Astana).
Berthet lies in seventh place at 7:47, while Skelmose dropped to eighth, now 7:51 and tied on time with Rodriguez after the Spaniard’s superior ride.
Climbing into the top 10 was Harold Tejada (XDS Astana), who finished 16th on the stage. He knocked Sepp Kuss (Visma-Lease a Bike) out of the top 10, and is 9:57 behind Mas in tenth.
The racing resumes on Friday with the summit finish at Peñas Blancas sure to further disrupt the GC standings.
