Sterling returns to rejoin England squad in Qatar after his London home was broken into

England footballer Raheem Sterling will return to Qatar this Friday after leaving the England training camp due to the robbery that took place at his London home.

The official account of the England national team reported the return of their player to the training camp.

“The forward left temporarily to attend to a family matter, but is now expected to rejoin the team tomorrow in Al Wakrah ahead of the quarter-finals with France.”

Sterling left ahead of the round of 16 match against Senegal after an armed robbery took place at his London home, from which thieves made off with cash, jewelry and watches worth around 350,000 euros – close to 370,000 dollars. The footballer left to be with his children, who were not at home at the time of the robbery.

According to the FA, Sterling will return to Qatar and rejoin England’s training camp for the quarter-final against France. The Chelsea star had started the first two matches of the group stage, against Iran and the United States, and was on the bench against Wales.
