Tottenham fans love Gareth Bale’s pep talk to new signing Brennan Johnson for Wales

Fans love rediscovered footage of Gareth Bale giving new Tottenham signing Brennan Johnson a team talk while playing for Wales.

The 22-year-old was a major part of both squads to take Forest to the Premier League and then keep them in the top tier last season.

And while Chelsea and Brentford were interested in the Wales international, Tottenham won the race.

The last Spurs forward to play for Wales turned out pretty good, too, with Bale still remembered fondly.

Time will tell on whether Johnson can make a similar impact as Bale but the pair have played together with Wales and fans can’t get enough of an exchange between the pair during the World Cup in Qatar.

In a group stage match against the USA and with seconds left of the 90 minutes, a piece of footage showing Bale telling Johnson to continue putting in the hard yards until the final whistle has re-emerged.

Bale is seen saying: “Just keep running. I know it’s hard but you’ve just got to f****** do it.”

And fans have loved seeing their legend speaking up at the World Cup.

One said: “Good lord I love Gareth Bale.”

Another wrote: “Learned from the best.”

And a third posted: “Imagine getting a pep talk from Bale, bruh I wouldn’t STOP running. Legend.”

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou was desperate to bolster his attack after the departure of Harry Kane, but they haven’t missed the new Bayern star’s shooting boots so far.

Spurs sit second in the Premier League after four games and no club has scored more than them this season.

Richarlison might have struggled so far but the arrival of Johnson will give more fluidity to an impressive attack already.

The Dragons are in action on Thursday night when they play South Korea in a friendly.
