There is a fresh concern for Xavi Hernandez, as Ousmane Dembele has picked up an injury, having to be substituted off in the first half of Girona vs Barcelona on Saturday.
The Frenchman went down holding his left leg and asked to be substituted off, with Pedri coming on for him.
He has a long history of injury issues, but hasn’t had a physical issue since November 2021.
At half time, the Catalan club stated that the Frenchman had a quadriceps injury in his left leg and that tests that will be carried out on the player when he returns to Barcelona.
Seeing how he limped when he returned to the bench, the injury does not look good.
Dembele had been in great form
Looking ahead, Xavi will get Robert Lewandowski back from suspension in time for the midweek clash with Real Betis, but he’ll be concerned if Dembele has to miss much time.
The Frenchman has been in good form since the World Cup, assisting and scoring whether he plays on the left or the right.
