Why Liverpool vs Wolves is not on TV – talkSPORT 2 has commentary from Anfield

Liverpool renew hostilities with Wolves for a fourth time in 2023 in a rearranged fixture that will be live on talkSPORT 2 tonight.

The Reds need to bounce back from a horror week in which their Champions League hopes were all-but ended following a 5-2 defeat to Real Madrid.

Liverpool then showed the affects of that European humbling by labouring to a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace last time out.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are now under pressure to close the nine-point gap to the top four with their latest meeting with Wolves.

Liverpool edged the Midlands outfit across two FA Cup third round matches at the start of the year, but were then smashed 3-0 in their Premier League showdown and will be out for revenge.

The original fixture at Anfield was scheduled in September 2022, but the match was postponed following Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

Now that Liverpool have followed Wolves in exiting the FA Cup early, the rescheduled fixture has been squeezed in this week.

Why is Liverpool vs Wolves not on TV?

The game will not be shown on TV this week due to the original fixture taking place in the 3pm blackout slot for English football.

And rules dictate that if a game not picked for television coverage is postponed, then the rearranged match is still not able to be shown on TV – even if it has been rescheduled to a more agreeable time.

While the match may not be available to watch, talkSPORT 2 will have you covered with EXCLUSIVE live radio commentary.

Geoff Peters will present the coverage while commentary will come from Joe Shennan and former Leeds Women’s forward Lucy Ward.

Speaking about his side being torn to shreds by Wolves when they met at Molineux, Klopp said: “We have important information from that game we need to use. We have to focus on ourselves.

“The main difference is we will play at Anfield and we have to make that count.

“It was not a cool day. Main difference is we play at Anfield. It’s a long period between games. We want to put it right, yeah.

“But I am more focused on giving the season a proper push. We need to find a steady mood.”
