While the inspiration derived from its RS Q e-tron Dakar Racer might be limited to graphics and the fact that it’s all electric, we’re still happy to see an automobile brand expand into bicycles. Even if it’s just a limited edition.
Built by Fantic, an Italian brand specializing in electric bikes and scooters, the Audi electric mountain bike (yes, that’s its official name, no caps) is essentially a re-badged Fantic XEF 1.9 Factory eMTB Enduro.
Both models share the alloy-and-carbon frame, Ohlins fork and shock with 180mm travel, and Brose S-MAG 250W motor with 90Nm torque. It’s powered by a custom Fantic Integra 720Wh battery in the downtube. Data and assist mode are on a small display on the handlebar, cycling through Eco, Tour, Sport, and Turbo modes.
Drivetrain is SRAM’s GX Eagle mechanical with FSA cranks and SRAM 34t steel chainring. The cassette is an 11-51 SunRace 12-speed model. Brakes are Braking IN.CA.S with 220/203mm rotors.
Vittoria e-Mazza (29×2.6 front) and e-Martello (27.5×2.8 rear) tires provide moto-like grip on the custom decaled Mavic DeeMax wheels. A Renthal cockpit helps you keep it all under control.
