Will Fergie, Duchess of York, be snubbed from Charles III coronation ceremony?

Sarah Ferguson, also known as Fergie, has revealed that she has not yet received an invitation to King Charles‘s coronation, her former brother-in-law. The Duchess of York made the admission during a conversation with Glamour editor Samantha Barry as part of the publicity tour for her new historical novel, A Most Intriguing Lady.

She also spoke about her close relationship with the late Queen and her care of her two surviving corgis. When asked whether she had managed to secure an invite for the historic event, Fergie joked that it’s “to be decided” whether she will end up in attendance.

However, she didn’t seem bothered by the snub and instead said she planned to set up a tea room at the bottom of the drive with bunting and cakes.

In recent years, Queen Elizabeth II had gradually brought Fergie back into the fold, inviting her to attend Royal Ascot and spend summer holidays at Scotland’s Balmoral Castle with her ex-husband Prince Andrew and their daughters Beatrice and Eugenie. However, Fergie was nowhere to be seen during the official celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last June.

Fergie is proud of her daughters Beatrice and Eugenie

Fergie also spoke about her pride in seeing her daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, attending the service of thanksgiving held at St Paul’s Cathedral. She said, “I think the way Beatrice and Eugenie are behaving and have behaved is just extraordinary… I brought them up to understand how they feel. I told them very, very early on, ‘Express yourself, express your feelings.’ Because when you do, you tend not to fall into the big traps that I fell into.”

While Fergie’s absence from the coronation guest list may not come as a surprise due to her past scandals, it is noteworthy that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have received their invitations. However, it is unclear whether Harry and Meghan plan to attend the event.
